Only Through Shadows is a small scale jewellery company launched in August 2020 by designer/maker Artemis, based on the Isle of Wight, an island off the south coast of the UK.
We specialise in delicate fine jewellery inspired by natural history. Incorporating tiny details and organic stones with unusual facets and inclusions.

AVAILABILITY
Our jewellery is made in very small batches by one maker so we may run out of stock quickly, however we aim to replace sold out items as soon as we can. As all items are made individually, this will depend on current workloads.
‘All our items over 1g for gold and 7g for silver will be hallmarked in accordance with UK Hallmarking Act (1973).’
SOLID METALS
Only Through Shadows jewellery is made from solid metals that are completely un-plated, therefore you wont need to worry about your jewellery needing re-plating or turning a different colour. Most of our jewellery is available to order in 9ct, 14ct, or 18ct. Please contact us for details and prices if not shown. Our white gold is available in 9ct or18ct, it’s an alloy of gold, mixed with silver to give a white colour, but still retaining the beautiful glow and smooth texture of gold. It is very resilient to tarnishing, unlike sterling silver which will dull over time if not worn or polished.
RING SIZING
Rings are made to order to the customer’s ring size, this takes around 2-6 weeks depending on design and metal (this accounts for the time to order materials and send to London for hallmarking as well as manufacturing time).
We highly recommend that you visit a local jeweller to have your finger professionally measured, before ordering from us.
Rings can usually be resized at further cost and will incur shipping charge, please contact us for more details.
ALTERATIONS
We don’t currently take commissions or bespoke work unfortunately, however if you would like an item in a different metal that is not listed or would like chains to be a different length, please get in touch. Simple plain bands can be made in different widths and metals, send an email to us with your specifications and we will reply with a quote and a timescale.
