In ancient Greece and Rome, kings and queens were convinced that sapphires protected their owners from envy and harm and early sailors believed that sapphires would protect them from drowning at sea.

This unique oval cut teal sapphire has variegated darker and paler areas of natural colour and has been set in a simple and comfortable to wear bezel setting with a slim band.
